Two arrested for homicide after fire in Gatineau

On March 29, Gatineau Police (SPVG) arrested Éric Dion and Caroline Dupuis-Lepage, for the homicide of Martin Rock. Rock, age 43, died on January 26 following a fire at an apartment building located at 190, rue Saint-André in Gatineau.
On January 26 this year, SPVG police officers and the Gatineau Fire Department responded to a fire call in an apartment building on rue Saint-André. Some residents were able to get to safety. However, Martin Rock was declared dead at the scene. The SPVG assigned investigators to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire.
Éric Dion, 41, and Caroline Dupuis-Lepage, 31, have been arrested and face charges of arson, endangering human life, conspiracy and second-degree homicide. Éric Dion and Caroline Dupuis-Lepage knew Rock, the victim in the fire.
Last Tuesday, the two suspects were arrested by Granby Police for a minor offense. The police informed the SPVG and a detective traveled to Granby to arrest the suspects. The investigation is ongoing and there may be further charges as more information is gathered.
Later on March 31, a third suspect, Steve Serré age 49, was arrested at the Hull detention facility where he was being held for another case. The suspect faces charges of arson, endangering human life, conspiracy and second degree homicide.
