Dôme Outaouais is expanding its offerings by building a second dome that will be opening on July 1. Owner Fanny Roy highlights that the pandemic has helped her business, as many people were looking to participate in local tourism and explore their own region when there were restrictions in place. This allowed Roy to start the construction of the second dome.
Dôme Outaouais is located in Lac Sainte-Marie. Roy notes that she chose the area for the short-term rental attraction because she is from the area and can offer tourists a great experience. There are many activities in the area, such as hiking, skiing, bike paths, golf, and other local businesses that offer equestrian activities and dog sledding.
Renters can also take advantage of the 5 km trails on the Dôme Outaouais property. The domes are four-season, can accommodate four people and are equipped with a complete kitchen, bathroom, mezzanine, wood burning stove, hot tub, and private deck for a true “glamping” experience.
“I wanted to create a unique experience for those looking for a peaceful isolated nature experience in a luxury glamping dome,” said Roy.
She said she got the idea for Dôme Outaouais in 2020 when she saw a dome and thought it would be a great investment and a way to develop the region. The first dome was built in the spring of 2021 and opened for short-term rental in July 2021. The owner’s goal is to eventually have four or five domes on the property.
