On Monday, June 3, 2024, at 8 pm, the Salle Odyssée in Gatineau will come alive with the sounds of the 9th edition of the "Show du Gîte". This acclaimed musical variety show serves as a significant fundraiser for Gîte Ami, the sole emergency shelter for the homeless in the Outaouais region.
Local talent Wassim, a well-known singer-songwriter from Outaouais, will grace the stage as the Master of Ceremonies. The event will also feature a special performance by Lunou Zucchini, a beloved figure who gained fame on Star Académie and starred in the musical "Rock of Ages." Known for her roles in various shows including "Belle et Bum," Lunou promises to bring her unique charm and emotive performances to the evening.
The Gatineau vocal ensemble, “Chœur qui bat", led by Bruno Roussel and accompanied by pianist Marianne Dumas, will return to delight the audience with their musical prowess. Solveig Langlois, a rising star from the show "Révolution," will showcase his talent, further enriching the evening's lineup. Artishow artists are also set to return, bringing excerpts from popular musicals to the stage, ensuring a varied and engaging program for all attendees.
Since its inception in 2014, the "Show du Gîte" has consistently sold out, reflecting the community's strong support for this cause. Over the past eight years, the event has raised more than $180,000 for Gîte Ami, providing critical funds to support the shelter's operations and services for the homeless.
Tickets are available for $45 at the Maison de la culture box office, with VIP tickets offered at $125. These premium tickets include a pre-show cocktail dinner, a reserved seat, and a tax receipt for a $50 donation. Tickets can also be purchased online through the Ovation website with an additional fee of $5 per ticket. Consult the "Show du Gîte" website for more information: www.showdugite.ca
