Gatineau-based company Halte gestion et construction's three co-owners have announced the opening of their new project, Le Rond-Point, an amusement centre for children. The centre is located in the former premises of Tubes et Jujubes and offers a variety of fun and educational activities for different age groups. The three partners, Myriam Campeau, Majorie Marcotte, and Caroline Labelle, invested $500,000 and spent several months on renovations and furnishings to create an inviting environment within the 14,000 square foot space.
Le Rond-Point is a gathering place for young children where play is possible in complete safety. The team has created a balance of free play, electronic games, obstacle courses, creative workshops, and rest areas. The centre also offers four private rooms to celebrate birthdays, a food court with balanced and colourful food, and a boutique where families can buy small surprises based on responsible consumption.
In addition, the owners are offering day camps this summer to accommodate 49 children per week, aged between 5 and 12 years. This is an important added value at a time when many day camps in the region are facing space and staff availability issues.
The co-founders of Le Rond-Point, saw the potential of the vacant space of the former Tubes et Jujubes in October 2022 and decided to create a unique, modern centre focused on the happiness and development of children. The entrepreneurs thought of a space where children like to play when looking for a creative and representative name. In a neighbourhood, families with young children like to live in a traffic circle, where toddlers can gather and play in a controlled and safe environment.
"Underneath a ton of dust, our entrepreneurial construction eyes saw the potential to make this derelict space into the kind of play environment we wished we could find for our little families - and for all families in the area. Within minutes, we were determined to make this our next project!" said Caroline Labelle.
.
Le Rond-Point has received support from local partners such as Arcade Mobile, Lumini, Fêtes et Fanions, and Traiteur Petits pieds, as well as financial support from the BDC and Desjardins Entreprises Outaouais.
"We are very proud to count on incredible partners, as well as the financial support of the BDC and Desjardins Entreprises Outaouais," said Majorie Marcotte.
Myriam Campeau added, "Behind all these reflections and achievements is an unwavering ambition carried by three entrepreneurs, women, and mothers who have only one common goal: to spread happiness and make this heartfelt project a must for all families in the region."
Le Rond-Point, which opened on April 8, is a family experience that exudes happiness. Information on the centre's services is available at www.lerond-point.com and on Le Rond-Point Facebook page.
